Music has been with man since Creation. God wanted music to be an integral part of the Christian’s life. Both singing and the playing of instruments were a part of God’s Creation. God likes to hear the playing of instruments and the singing of voices. The Bible has much to say about music, including how to define the different Biblical themes of music; how the Bible ties music to one’s spirit, one’s thought life, and one’s emotional life; how the most prolific song writer in the Bible wrote 1,005 songs; how music is associated with wisdom; and how all music can be divided into the “song of the fool” or the “song of the wise.” This practical booklet is an effort to bring a little sanity to the body of believers about music and also to serve as a reminder of “this we believe” about music.
